Can you imagine a life without roads? We get so irritated by a simple pothole. Now imagine the entire road was just a bunch of potholes. You would simply lack the will to drive to school, work, and friends. Your tires would need to be changed at least once a week. And well — what if your wife went into labor?

Infrastructure is the Foundation of Everything

Basic infrastructure is essential for a society's well-being, impacting every individual's quality of life significantly. It is directly linked to economic growth and stability by stimulating economic activity, increasing competition, and creating jobs. In a Task Force report by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), an estimated 4–6% of Pakistan's GDP (~$6 billion) is lost due to an insufficiency in basic infrastructure including electricity, water and sanitation, and roads.

In the remote mountain village of Khura, Pakistan, visiting a qualified medical doctor is difficult, if not impossible — healthcare infrastructure is not up-to-date and the closest modern hospital is at least a 2-hour drive away.

Children rarely trek outside due to the inconvenience of walking all the way to the bus stop from their homes. Mothers prepare their grocery lists for the next time someone decides to walk down the mountain to the city marketplace. Life is constrained not by ambition — but by access.

What Rehmat-O-Noor Is Doing

In 2023, Rehmat-O-Noor successfully established a school in Khura, Pakistan. We are now taking the next step in progressing this village and its people with the construction of a road connecting Khura to the city roads.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." — Margaret Mead

People remain oblivious to the potential hidden atop this mountain peak. This will not just be any road. It will be a road to success. It will be a road to fulfilled potential.

We have already jump-started the project with current funds and plan to contribute another $5,000 towards the project. You can transform this village and every person living there. Every person living there can then transform others — and this pattern will continue until Pakistan as a whole is transformed.
